On the latest episode of the Soul-Shaking Love podcast, I interview Dr. Susan Heitler about whether all couples have conflicts. Indeed, all couples do have differences that lead to conflict. As John Gottman’s research shows, all couples have unsolvable issues; the difference between happy couples and unhappy couples is how you fight, not whether you do. Couples whose love grows closer over time know how to create win/win solutions that leave them feeling like a team so that when they do compromise, it meets their deeper needs and both people feel closer.

Dr. Susan Heitler is a Clinical Psychologist who has been helping couples create these win/win solutions for over 50 years. Her methods are simple and effective, and I interviewed her about how she does it.

In our interview, she reveals:

-What causes fights?
-Is anger helpful? Hurtful?
-What are the alternatives to fighting?
