We’ve all done it: that pint of ice cream to help us through a tough breakup. Or we feel lonely (even while in a relationship) so we reach for the bag of chips to fill the empty feeling.
Only, we know it doesn’t fill the empty feeling for long; soon we’re just beating ourselves up to make matters worse…and that wreaks havoc on our mood, sex life, and connection to our partner…
In this episode, I interview Marriage and Family Therapist and health coach Avi Friedman about how to overcome emotional eating.
Avi is a Marriage and Family Therapist, residing in Boca Raton with his wife and two daughters. After going through a health crisis, he found himself at 270 pounds and realized that he wouldn’t be around to walk them down the aisle if something didn’t change.
As a therapist, it made sense that he needed to help heal himself if he was going to be an example for his patients and his children. He decided to become a coach after researching dozens of programs.
He has empowered both patients and his community to make significant changes in his life with accountability and focus. With daily changes to one healthy habit at a time, not only has he lost 60 pounds, he has found assisting others reinforces his own commitment to his personal health. Avi is an engaging, caring coach and therapist.
